It’s true! And when Eastern Mountain Sports sent me this one, they had me at “Killer Bees” – I have few “claims to fame” in my life, but one of them is that I am pretty sure that I one of the few people in the world to encounter killer bees on three (three!) separate occasions, and not get stung.
Climbing gear and equipment from EMS.com
Kind of puts it all in perspective, right? Props to Eastern Mountain Sports for putting this together and allowing me to share it with all of you.
This is a great infographic. I can’t believe that more people are killed by lawnmowers than by spiders, snakes, aligators, black bears, mountain lions, wolves, scorpions and polar bears COMBINED.
Fantastic chart and well executed thought and design. One of the many reasons why we sponsor this site. Excellent Post!
OMG! I really love them for these. I just posted another one, but did not realize they had others. These images really hit at the heart of what people are afraid of, especially the Outdoor Afro crowd!
Thank you for posting Roy!

Great Graphics
Well, if I’m reading this right, Roy…
It’s the WOLVES I need to worry about most, right? LOL, this is a great graphic–thanks for sharing it! ~Jim
So a lot of people die because they end up killing themselves, basically.
I love it! I knew cutting the grass was a bad thing even as a child!
The graphics are great–simple, but really grabs your attention. These are examples of the power of great graphics!
Awesome poster. They have sent the message out very graphically-to the point and easy to understand. It goes to show what the media focuses on and does not. Very, very surprised about the bees though!
