Peter over at the Outside San Diego blog is giving away six of the new Stanley® stainless steel water bottles. Just sign up for email subscription (free) to enter – drawings are on June 11th.
I’m a big fan of these stainless steel bottles, which dont’ have plastic or vinyl liners in them, like the aluminum bottles do. Anyway, free is a very good price and if you’re not already reading Peter’s blog, then you’re missing out on some great stuff, including his Grand Canyon backpacking trip with his seven-year-old daughter.
Stay tuned for my next contest, which will be kicking-off in June. The April contest, where I gave away something each week instead of one big prize at the end, was a big hit. I’ll be announcing the details next week, so stay tuned!
Thanks Roy. I’ll see what bottles are at my local outdoor store.
About the Grand Canyon: If you come via the north you have all that great sandstone country in southern Utah to explore before or after. However, if you do come from the south, I strongly suggest you visit Sedona south of Flagstaff.

John – I believe stainless steel is the way to go. I’m not sure if any of the three (Kleen Kanteen, CamelBak, Stanley) have an advantage over the others. I’ve been using a Stanley 2qt. Vacuum Bottle and a couple of 20oz. Classic Mugs for years.
Peter – No problem, great contest!
Deb – I can’t wait until my son is a few years older, so we can all head to the canyon. The big question will be South or North? I’ve always been partial to the South Rim, myself – but I’ve never been to the North Rim, so… 🙂
I enjoyed reading about Peter’s Grand Canyon trip. I live nearby and hike in the Canyon often, and I’m always interested to hear about people’s trips there and how their hikes went.

Thanks so much for the mention. I am really excited to be giving away these bottle. Stanley make a really high quality product, and the stainless steel bottles are the way to go in my opinion. No plastic to deal contend with, and they seem to be more durable than aluminum. Good luck everyone.

Roy, is this the best water bottle, in your opinion?
I’m looking for something healthier than the regular plastic water bottles one can buy at the store. I use the same one over and over.
